ANTONIO “TONY” SUCCAR (b. 1986) is a Peruvian-American musician, composer, arranger and producer. In 2010, Tony and his band were invited to perform al fresco at a Halloween party on Lincoln Road in the heart of South Beach. The invitation included a special request to play Michael Jackson’s classic Thriller. In considering how he would perform Thriller, Tony thought, “Why don’t I put it through a salsa filter.” And the moment provided a spark that ignited Succar on a five-year odyssey, culminating in the production and release of Unity: The Latin Tribute to Michael Jackson, featuring many of the world’s best Latin musicians and vocalists.

Gary Burton:  Jazz Musician, Educator

GARY BURTON is a jazz vibraphonist, composer and jazz educator. Burton developed a pianistic style of four-mallet technique as an alternative to the prevailing two-mallet technique. He has been heralded as an innovator and his sound and technique are widely imitated.  He is also known for pioneering fusion jazz and popularizing the duet format in jazz, as well as being a major figure in music education due to his 33 years of teaching  at the Berklee College of Music, and his many years of service as executive vice president of Berklee. Burton has recorded over 60 albums and won 7 Grammy Awards.  Beginning in the 1960s, when he was still a teenager, Gary has performed with almost every major jazz musician.

No Boundaries: Aboriginal Australian Contemporary Abstract Painting at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) brings together the work of nine Aboriginal Australian artists: Paddy Bedford, Jananggoo Butcher Cherel, Tommy Mitchell, Ngarra, Boxer Milner Tjampitjin, Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri, Tjumpo Tjapanangvka, Billy Joongoorra Thomas, and Prince of Wales (Midpul). Each of these men is a leader within their community and while they began painting late in life, their works explore complex and innovative modes of abstraction.
