PETER ALSON’s (b.1955) journalism has appeared in numerous national magazines, including Esquire, Rolling Stone and the New York Times Magazine. He’s the author of seven books, including the novel, “The Only Way To Play It,” and the memoirs, “Take Me to the River” and “The Vig.” A former professional poker player, he’s more recently satisfied his tolerance for risk by starting a small publishing imprint, Arbitrary Press, which in the three years since its founding has already published 11 books. He and his wife, screen and television writer Alice O’Neill, live in New York City with their 17-year-old daughter, Eden.  He’s a graduate of Harvard University.

ALICE O’NEILL is a screenwriter who wrote for “Billions” on Showtime for three seasons, and has created and developed series for ABC Signature, Freeform, and Paramount Television. Recent film projects include “Twist of Fate” for Sony Pictures (dir. Stephen Chbosky), “Shoot Like a Girl” for Sony/Tristar (based on the war memoir by MJ Hegar), and “The Uncharted Life of Amy Byler” for No Trace Camping Productions. Her original script “The Stevedore” is in development at Miramax, and “Buttercup,” which was featured on the Blacklist, is in development at Groundswell Productions. As a playwright, her work has been produced at theaters in New York City and elsewhere, including Ars Nova, Backhouse, Naked Angels, The Culture Project, Dixon Place, New Georges, and HERE.

O’Neill also serves as an adjunct professor at the Columbia University School of the Arts, and as a mentor for the Writers’ Guild Initiative. She is a graduate of Georgetown University.

EDEN ALSON (b.2006) is an author living in Greenwich Village, and summering in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Her first novel, “The Novice Twins,” was published when she was in 8th grade. Her second novel, “Far From Here,” was published in 2023.
