RICHARD MILSTEIN is the Chair of the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust (AACT) Board of Directors.  He has been an active member of the Arsht Center Trust Board of Directors since 2008, supporting the Center’s commitment to connecting all people to the arts, to the Arsht Center and to each other.  Since opening in 2006, the Arsht Center, a 501C3 non-profit organization, has been recognized as a catalyst for billions of dollars in new development in the downtown area, a leader in artistic programming that mirrors South Florida’s diversity, a host venue for historic events and Miami’s hub for arts education.

Milstein is a partner at Akerman LLP, where he concentrates his practice on high-conflict trust,  probate, estate and guardianship litigation and administration; and family law matters. He has served on the board of the Miami-Dade Bar, including terms as president and as chair of the Probate Committee. A renowned champion for equal justice and pro bono legal services, he is the 2019 recipient of The Florida Bar Foundation’s Medal of Honor among many other community recognitions. Outside of the practice of law, Milstein is a former chair of the Miami Foundation and of Inter Professional Council, founding president of Bet Shira Congregation and a member of the Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs Council. He also previously served on the board of SAVE, South Florida’s longest-serving LGBTQ rights and advocacy organization.

The buildings elevate the experiences of taking in those art forms, but the buildings also put pressure on the arts organizations to provide high quality art that lives up to the quality of the buildings.
