DIEGO SALTERINI (b.1966) Is the Founding Artistic Director, Dance NOW! Miami; the Artistic Director, Joffrey Italy Summer Camp; the Co-Artistic Director, Joffrey Miami Summer Camp; and on the Board of Directors, Florida Dance Education Organization (Études).

Born in Rome, Italy, Salterini brings a rich international perspective to the world of dance. After a highly successful career as a lead dancer and assistant choreographer for major Italian television and theater productions, he relocated to the United States in 1997. Since then, he has performed with acclaimed companies including Michael Uthoff Dance Theater, Dance Through Time, Momentum Dance Company, and Karen Peterson & Dancers.

Diego’s early training under Maestro Roberto Salaorni, his lifelong mentor, shaped his artistry and discipline.

As a choreographer, Diego has created more than fifty original works, collaborating internationally with artists including Hannah Baumgarten (USA). Fernando Duarte (Portugal), and Emiliano Candiago (Italy). His creative partnerships extend to designers and composers
such as Bruce F. Brown, Davidson Jaconello, Federico Bonacossa, and Haydee and Maria Morales. His compelling and stylistically diverse repertoire has been presented across nine U.S. states and throughout Europe, Central, and South America.

For over three decades, Diego has shared his passion for dance as an educator, mentoring new generations through institutions like New World School of the Arts, Florida International University, Miami City Ballet School, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Atlanta Ballet School, Mercyhurst College, Ballet Stagium, Mostra Dança, Molinari Art Center, I.A.L.S., and Conchita Espinosa Academy.  He has served as a jazz dance adjudicator for YoungArts, and spent 15 summers on the faculty of the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Since 2012, he has been a distinguished faculty member and recruiter with the Joffrey Ballet School’s Summer Programs, serving as Artistic Director of Joffrey Italy and Co-Artistic Director of the Joffrey Miami Ballet and Jazz Contemporary Programs alongside Hannah Baumgarten. In 2021, his leadership and advocacy in dance education were recognized with his election to the Board of the Florida Dance Education Organization.
