THE RICHARD TUCKER GALA

A milestone celebration of opera arrives at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts as the Richard Tucker Music Foundation marks its 50th anniversary with a gala presented by Florida Grand Opera. For the first time, the renowned Richard Tucker Gala travels beyond New York, bringing its legacy of supporting world-class singers to Miami.

The evening features bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green, a three-time Grammy Award winner acclaimed for his commanding performances in Wagner’s Die Walküre and Terence Blanchard’s Champion. He is joined by Mexican-American tenor Arturo Chacón-Cruz, celebrated internationally for more than 60 roles across 30 countries and honored as a winner of Plácido Domingo’s Operalia competition. The program also includes cantor Netanel Hershtik, known for groundbreaking appearances at venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie and the United Nations, alongside soprano Sarah Joy Miller, star of HBO’s The Gilded Age, and soprano Catherin Meza.

The gala not only honors the enduring legacy of Richard Tucker, one of America’s greatest tenors, but also serves as a commemoration of Kristallnacht with a message of resilience. In addition, Florida Grand Opera will launch its new Voice of Wellness program dedicated to first responders, nurses and veterans, underscoring the evening’s theme of service and remembrance.

The Richard Tucker Music Foundation 50th Anniversary Gala takes place Sunday, November 9 at the Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
